Shaikh Majid unveils UAQ Mangrove Reserve project that combines tranquillity and luxury
Shaikh Majid Bin Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Archaeology in Umm Al Quwain, recently inaugurated LuxeGlamp, one of the newest and most significant eco-tourism ventures located in the heart of the Umm Al Quwain Mangrove Reserve. Shaikh Abdullah Bin Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Finance in Umm Al Quwain, also attended the inauguration. This ambitious initiative aims to enhance sustainable eco-tourism and provide visitors with an exceptional experience.
During the opening, luxurious chalets within the project were unveiled, characterised by designs harmoniously integrated with the surrounding natural environment of the reserve. The project offers a unique accommodation experience combining tranquillity and luxury, supported by recreational facilities and services designed to meet visitors' expectations.
Shaikh Majid emphasised that the LuxeGlamp project represents a significant milestone in the emirate's tourism development journey, aligned with the wise leadership's directives to deliver high-end tourism experiences that meet international standards. He noted that the project would enhance Umm Al Quwain's position in both local and global tourism, hospitality, and entertainment maps.
The Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Archaeology added that Umm Al Quwain has achieved significant milestones and unique accomplishments in the hospitality sector due to sound planning and meticulous execution of projects driven by a deep understanding of the local market needs and the emirate’s unique attributes.
He further explained that the establishment of this project is part of a comprehensive vision aimed at building a tourism and educational environment that raises awareness among the community and visitors about the importance of nature, emphasising sustainability principles, and opening new avenues for responsible and innovative investment in the eco-tourism sector.
The project features luxurious accommodation units constructed from environmentally friendly materials, employing top sustainability standards through renewable energy sources and water conservation technologies. Its design harmonises with the dense mangrove vegetation, ensuring the ecological balance within the reserve is maintained.
The opening ceremony was attended by Shaikh Ahmed Bin Ibrahim Al Mualla, Director General of the Department of Economic Development in Umm Al Quwain, Haytham Sultan Al Ali, Director General of the Department of Tourism and Archaeology in Umm Al Quwain, Anthony Thomas, Founder and CEO of LuxeGlamp, and several directors and officials from various government departments in the emirate.
