Dubai: The athletes at the Abu Dhabi Sports Summer were in for a surprise when they saw Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, walk in to the venue.

Sheikh Mansour took some time off to play a game of volleyball with the residents at the sports event, organised by ADNEC and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Sheikh Mansour met the organisers who was briefed on the various sports programmes and activities.

The events include team and individual sports, as well as events dedicated to families and children, making them integrated events that meet the aspirations of various segments of society.

He also toured the most prominent facilities of the event, which is the largest of its kind in the region, extending over an area exceeding 37,000 square meters and includes more than 52 indoor and air-conditioned tracks and courts for more than 12 team sports, equipped according to the highest international standards, in addition to a 1.2km running track.
