Adnan Sami’s much-anticipated live concert in Dubai, originally scheduled for June 29 at Coca-Cola Arena, has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. A mail was sent out by ticketing platform PlatinumList.

A new date will be announced soon.

Plus, tickets to the PME Entertainment Event will be refunded within 21 working days to the original credit card used for purchase, according to ticketing platform PlatinumList.

The postponement comes just as the world celebrates World Music Day — and Sami himself made headlines with his candid views on technology and creativity in a recent interview with Gulf News.

“Auto-tune is like makeup,” Sami said. “If we accept stuntmen in films and VFX on screen, why not use technology to polish a vocal track? It’s not cheating — it’s enhancing.”

The singer-composer, known for iconic tracks like Lift Kara De and Tera Chehra, was preparing for his Dubai performance when he sat down for an interview that touched on everything from AI's role in the arts to the power of live music.

“I’m extremely tech-savvy,” he said. “I’ve experimented with AI tools like ChatGPT — sometimes just for fun. I’ve had it write letters as if Ghalib, Ace Ventura, or even Marlon Brando were speaking.”

Despite his embrace of modern tools, Sami drew a clear line: “Tech is a brilliant tool. But it can never replicate soul. You can’t program passion. That’s why the roar of a live audience will always win — it’s electric, it’s real.”

Having lived in the UAE for over a decade, Sami says Dubai remains a wellspring of inspiration.

“Dubai embraces everyone. Whether you’re South Asian, European or Arab, the city makes you feel at home. That energy, that multicultural audience, fuels me every time I perform here.”

Known for his ever-evolving musical style, Sami continues to reinvent himself in an era of algorithm-driven fame and viral trends.

“I still feel like a student,” he said. “There’s so much to learn. And ironically, that hunger has only grown with time. When you’re young, you think you have forever. But now I’m more impatient than ever to create.”

As fans await news of the rescheduled date, Sami’s reflections offer a reminder of why his music still resonates.

“Some of my songs I underestimated ended up becoming iconic,” he said. “You never really know which track will connect. You just follow your instinct and hope it resonates.”

And as for those worried about auto-tune replacing talent, Sami puts it best: “If someone with zero talent relies entirely on auto-tune, that’s a problem. But if you’re using it to finesse a performance — that’s like putting on makeup before going on camera. It’s presentation, not deception.”

A new date for the concert is expected to be announced soon.
