Khan is under heightened security following multiple death threats and was not harmed
Dubai: A 23-year-old man from Chhattisgarh was detained by Mumbai Police on Tuesday after he allegedly attempted to trespass into Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra.
The actor, who has been under heightened security following multiple death threats, was not harmed in the incident.
The intruder, identified as Jitendra Kumar Hridaylal Singh from Durg, was apprehended by security personnel after he managed to enter the compound of the actor’s high-security building. He was later booked by the Bandra police for trespassing.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), Singh claimed he was a fan of Khan and had travelled to Mumbai with the hope of meeting the actor. Unable to gain access through official channels due to heavy police presence, he attempted to sneak into the premises. Constable Sandeep Rangari, 37, who was on duty outside the building, spotted Singh loitering suspiciously and quickly intervened.
The incident comes against the backdrop of repeated threats to Khan’s life in recent years, allegedly linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. In 2023, two men fired shots outside Khan’s home, prompting authorities to significantly upgrade his security to Y+ category, which includes a team of armed guards and round-the-clock surveillance. The actor has since been advised to restrict public appearances and travel with a bulletproof vehicle.
This latest breach has once again raised concerns about celebrity safety and the lengths to which fans—or in some cases, potential attackers—are willing to go. While Singh appears to be a harmless admirer, the ongoing threat landscape around Salman Khan has made any security lapse a matter of serious concern.
